Sariska National Park
This reserve is home to a variety of deciduous plants
and wild animals. Some rare species of birds, native
and migratory, have been spotted here too.
The Kandwadi fort
Though wear and tear has taken its toll on this
edifice, which is in a state of fair disrepair, it
also played a dramatic part in Mughal history in that
the emperor Aurangzeb apparently imprisoned the eldest
son of Shah Jahan here! Located on a hill, the fort
overlooks the Kandwadi plateau and a few Gujjar
villages. Leopards from the park occasionally slink
through this deserted fort.
Siliserh Lake
This lake is just off the Alwar-Sariska road. It gives
on to a marvelous palace (now a tourist resort) built
by Maharaja Vinay Singh in 1845 A. D. for his queen
Shila. Siliserh lake is a popular picnic spot with
boating and sailing options on offer.
